At the Africa Energy Forum, Sierra Leone’s Minister of Mines and Mineral Resources, Julius Daniel Mattai, emphasized the urgent need for innovative solutions to bolster energy generation and tackle the country’s significant energy deficit.

Minister Mattai highlighted that addressing the energy crisis is crucial for enhancing the efficiency of the mining sector, which is a vital part of Sierra Leone’s economy. By improving energy generation, the country can maximize the potential of its mineral resources, facilitating better mining, processing, and beneficiation practices.

He pointed out that these advancements would not only support the mining industry but also pave the way for industrialization in Sierra Leone. The minister stressed that the ultimate goal is to transform Sierra Leone into an attractive investment destination by reducing production costs and increasing revenue.

This commitment to improving energy access and efficiency signals a positive step toward sustainable economic growth and the responsible exploitation of the country’s rich mineral resources.
